So, I’m looking for Working Remote Survival Tips. How do you survive working remotely? How do you thrive working remotely?
I know, there are a ton of articles out there, but I’m looking for the true, nitty-gritty, facts and stats that keep you sane and keep you producing inside those four walls we call home.
For instance, I’ve been working remotely for going on my third month. Already I’ve deployed the following Working Remote Survival Tips to keep focused and plowing forward:
- Don’t be afraid to claim the walk-in closet as your primary work place for an extended amount of time.
- If you’re in a rural area, and your location has a big enough well house, a well house is a perfectly acceptable work office when push comes to shove.
- There is WORK time and there is FAMILY time. I know they’re going to spill over, but you’ve got to draw BOUNDARIES for BOTH.
- Laundry can wait for the weekend. Don’t let it distract you from a deadline.
- Getting in the habit of shaving, showering, dressing appropriately for a work day, and smelling good goes a long way in helping the attitude and doesn’t gross out your house mates.
- Don’t forget the gym. It’s good for body and soul.
- I’ve worked in my car for extended amounts of time. Gives a new meaning to the term “road warrior.”
And those are just the ones that came off the top of my head…
So how about you?
What are the tips and tricks you can share that keep you steady at work and sane everywhere else?
